The Empire Strips Back: A Burlesque Parody is an adult sci-fi revue performed at Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The production transforms familiar characters and imagery from a galaxy far, far away into choreographed striptease routines filled with comedy, dance, elaborate costumes, detailed props and playful theatrical surprises. Audiences encounter seductive Stormtroopers, droids, bounty hunters and other recognizable character parodies presented to a soundtrack of popular music. Rather than following a conventional storyline, the show unfolds as a collection of visually inventive burlesque numbers connected by humor and affectionate references for science-fiction fans. The internationally touring production established its Las Vegas residency at Rio in May 2025 and runs just under two hours, including an intermission. Audiences can expect a cheeky, polished and knowingly ridiculous celebration of burlesque, fandom and theatrical spectacle.
